Geneva, 18 September 2009 - Antiquorum, the world's premier watch auctioneer, is pleased to announce its forthcoming fall auction Important Collectors' Wristwatches, Pocket Watches, Clock & Horological Tools, to be held on Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 4th at the Grand Hotel Kempinski in Geneva. This sale will feature more than 400 modern and vintage carefully selected timepieces that will appeal to the watch collectors around the world. Prior to the auction, these exceptional lots can be seen at previews in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Geneva.
Lot 355
One of the top lots of this auction is undoubtedly the L. Leroy & Cie, Horlogers, Paris, No. 20105, produced in 1928 especially for Mr. Alberto Santos Dumont, a well-known Brazilian early pioneer of aviation. It is an exceptionally fine 18K yellow gold keyless split- seconds chronograph with instantaneous 60-minute register and stop feature.

Lot 196
The Patek Philippe collectors will be very interested by the Patek Philippe Ref. 1463. Made in 1948, it is an extremely fine and rare 18K yellow gold, water-resistant chronograph with round button and register.

Lot 197
Another exceptional Patek Philippe offered during the sale is the Patek Philippe Ref. 1463, manufactured in 1942 and sold on July 19, 1944. It is a very fine and extremely rare early Patek Philippe gentleman's chronograph in stainless steel, water-resistant, with round button, register and tachometer.

Lot 385
Cartier aficionados will want to bid on this fine and exceptionally rare Jumbo “Baignoire Allongée” from Cartier. Made in 1969 for London Hallmarks, it is an oversized and oval 18K white gold wristwatch.

Other outstanding Patek Philippe timepieces in the sale include the Patek Philippe, Ref. 1463. Made in 1946 and sold on 9 July 1947, it is a very fine and rare18K pink gold chronograph with round button, register, tachometer and asthmometer scale.

In addition, there is the Patek Philippe Ref. 5059P. Produced and sold in 2000, it is a very fine, self-winding and water-resistant platinum gentleman's wristwatch with center-seconds, perpetual calendar, moon phases, retrograde date, and 48 hours autonomy

Lot 252
Yet another magnificent lot presented in this auction is “The Hunt” Watch with 13 Complications No. 86825 by Gideon & Co., Le Locle, Switzerland. Attributed to Henry Grandjean & Cie., (Le Locle), it was specially made for the Indian market around 1900 and sold to the Sixth Nizam of Hyderabad, Mahbub Ali Khan who reigned from 1869 to 1911. This very fine and rare timepiece is a heavy 18K yellow gold, painted on enamel and rose-cut diamond-set keyless clockwatch. It features 13 complications including the minute-repeating, grande and petite sonnerie, astronomic, eight day going two-train with triple date, chronograph, central progressive minute recording hand, moon phases and lunar calendar functions.

Lot 400
For the Rolex collector, there is the Oyster Cosmograph Daytona “Paul Newman”, Ref. 6262/6239. Made circa 1969, it is a very fine and rare water-resistant, stainless steel wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, and tachometer.
